Fields of Fur Mobile Dog Grooming - "Growing Friendships One Paw at a Time"
Our Policies and Procedures
Our goal is to provide the safest, most enjoyable grooming experience for you and your pets. We strive to maintain a clean grooming salon and provide the highest quality products available. Below are the policies we have developed to ensure the safety and happiness of your pets while in our care.
Entering and Exiting the Salon
We require dogs to be on a leash when entering and exiting the mobile salon. This ensures the safety of your pet from your home/office to salon. Cats need to be in a carrier for safe transport to and from the mobile unit.

Bathing Requirements
During the winter months, pets are bathed with warm water only, never cold water. We have an automatic water heater that ensures the water is kept at a comfortable temperature year round. Each pet is bathed with a shampoo based on their skin and coat type. Pets with allergies, skin issues, or sensitives will only be bathed with hypoallergenic shampoo. All of our shampoos are of the highest quality and safe for both dogs and cats.

Cleaning Products
We sanitize the entire mobile salon with Simple Green, a non-toxic product that disinfects and is safe for animals and people. The mobile salon is disinfected between each appointment to ensure the cleanest environment for your pets.

Anal Gland Expression
As part of the regular grooming process we will attempt to express your dogs anal glands. If you do not want them to be expressed, please let us know. We only provide external anal gland expression. Should your pet have impacted anal glands and need internal expression, a vet will need to provide this service.

Ear Care and Ear Hair Removal
All pets will have their ears cleaned with a mild ear cleaner. If your pet has an ear infection we will let you know so you may consult your veterinarian. Ear hair will be removed/not removed based on your preference and your vets advice. Ear hair removal is typically a standard part of the grooming process, if you choose to not have our pets ear hair removed please let us know.

Toe Nail Trimming
All nails will be trimmed during each grooming appointment. We always do our best to trim the nails as short as possible, without hurting your pet. Should your pet show any signs of aggression during the nail trimming process, we will muzzle your pet for the safety of the groomer and the pet during the nail trimming only. We do not like to use muzzles and will try everything possible to avoid muzzling your pet.

Appointment Arrival Times
We ask for a 30 minute window for appointment times. If your appointment is scheduled for 2:00pm, we will arrive between 2:00 and 2:30pm. This window is necessary in case a previous appointment takes longer than expected and/or we hit traffic. We always try to be on time but unexpected incidents do occur. Should we be behind schedule more that 30 minutes we will always call to let you know we are running late.

Tipping your Groomers
If you are pleased with the service you have received we encourage you to show your appreciation to your groomer. Although not required, a gratuity is a powerful way to say "I appreciate your work." Even a note from you, simply saying "thanks for a job well done" means a great deal.

Cancellation Policy
If it is necessary to cancel/skip your grooming appointment, Fields of Fur merely requires a 2 business day notice. If we receive less than a 2 business day notice it will be necessary for us to charge a $50 no-show fee. Please call or email at least 48 hours in advance if you need to reschedule. We do understand that unexpected issues can occur without much notice, please notified us ASAP in those cases.

Scheduling Appointments
In order to book your appointment closest to your desired day/time, its helpful to know a few weeks in advance so we can accommodate your schedule. Please contact Fields of Fur at least 2 weeks prior to your desired appointment time. We service the entire Valley and are typically booked up 2 to 3 weeks in advance. If your schedule is flexible we might be able to provide you with a sooner appointment time, but it's not guaranteed. The only way we can guarantee an appointment is to pre-book your appointments in advance.
